HP Velotechnik recumbent electric tricycle
The company HP Velotechnik was founded by Paul Hollants and Daniel Pulvermüller in 1993. Its production facility is located in Kriftel near Frankfurt and employs 25 people (including four students) and manufactures approximately 1,700 recumbent bicycles a year , which makes them in European market leaders. The reclining trikes are built individually on request and sold through specialized distributors. Recumbent bicycles are sold in Germany and Europe and an increasing number of them are exported to other more distant regions such as the USA, Australia and Japan. HP Velotechnik has developed ten models of recumbent bikes that cover all kinds of classes, from everyday bicycles to runners and all models are available with powerful electric motors on request. As students, the founders of the company Hollants and Pulvermüller were national champions with their "cabin trike" in the Association of German Engineer's 1992 JUTEC youth and technology competition.
